Perfect for biological field work

I have been using my UltraOptix 7x lighted magnifier for several years now in my study of lichens. These require magnification in good light to see their identifying characteristics. I love this magnifier because of the large field of view that comes with having a lens much bigger than the usual loupes and the lighting is invaluable and dependable. It uses 3 AAA batteries. I carry it in my pocket so it would benefit from some sort of protection for the lens, but mine has never become scratched, only dirty. It's lasted for years, no problem, and I bring it with me every time I go out in nature--several times a week. And the cost is much lower than traditional loupes too.
