Zeiss Telescopic Spectacles G 2.2 feature one or two Galilean telescope systems either monocularly or binocularly. The magnification for distance vision is 2.2x. Together with the inconspicuous light grey color of the housing, the large field of view provided by the coated optics ensures a high level of acceptance of the system by those with low vision.

Object-side clip-on lenses increase the range of possible applications, allowing the Telescopic Spectacles G 2.2 to be used for distance, intermediate and near vision. With the appropriate magnification, the recognition of near objects and the reading of standard print sizes are once again possible. Due to the parallel position of the telescope systems, only monocular use is possible for near vision. The other lens is covered with a frosted clip-on lens.

For mounting reasons, the distance between the principal visual point and the rim of the frame must be less than 13 mm.
